Törggelen in Bolzano in South Tyrol
From the middle of October, the traditional Törggelen is back.
It is harvest time, the smell of roasted chestnuts is in the air and the new wine is ready to get tasted. According to the tradition, at Hotel Rotwand we offer to all our guests a menu featuring seasonal ingredients, and traditional Törggele-dishes: filled ravioli (Schlutzkrapfen), barley soup, sausages and loin of pork with “sauerkraut”, “Tirtlen”, roasted chestnuts and Krapfen.
"Wine Route" and wine tastings
Situated in the beautiful area of Bassa Atesina, Hotel Rotwand is not far away from the famous South Tyrolean “Strada del Vino” (Wine Route) and the villages of Appiano, Caldaro, Cortaccia, Magrè, Terlano and Termeno. These villages are known for their wonderful red wines, such as the Pinot Noir, the Cabernet, the Caldaro Lake wine and the Schiava Gentile.
In addition to the red wines, you will discover also the most popular South Tyrolean white wines, such as Gewürztraminer, the Pinot Blanc and the Pinot Gris Ruländer.

Bolzano offers a huge variety of museums and exhibitions and is therefore the perfect city for all art and science lovers.
Via Museo gives you the chance to visit the Archaeological Museum with the famous “Iceman“, better known as Ötzi” or to explore the Museum of Natural History in Via Bottai.
Worth seeing during your holiday in South Tyrol are also the Messner Mountain Museum in Castel Firmiano, the Animal Museum and the Museum of Natural History!
