To get to the Leiferer Höhenweg, you start from the Hotel Rotwand in the direction of Seit on the 12A to the right bank. Towards the restaurant and then onto the Leiferer Höhenweg. It is partly a bit narrow but well secured and in the middle of beautiful nature with some great views in the direction of Laives and the south of South Tyrol. You come to the Tschuegg inn and walk on to the Brunner inn. At the restaurant, go to no. 11 and you cross the Brantental to Laives. From there down to the main street where there are enough possibilities to get back to Bolzano to the Hotel Rotwand by public transport.
