Above all, the white wines that are produced on the South Tyrolean Wine Road are to be emphasized, especially the Gewürtztraminer, which is considered an autochthonous grape variety, thrives especially in South South Tyrol between Tramin and the Bolzano soil and is a mix between exotic fruits and a light spice.
The Reds have something to offer near Bolzano. The Lagrein, a very strong and tannin-rich red wine, needs the warmth in summer to mature well. An absolute must for red wine lovers, for example in combination with our game dishes, it harmonises very well. A slightly lighter cuvé is the St. Magdalener, which grows in steep slopes towards Ritten. An ideal Merende wine in the afternoon with South Tyrolean bacon and regional cheese.
We also have some wine here in Steinmannwald and at Laives, from our hotel we can see the Lagrein and Blauburgunder vines. I would also like to share the view of Laives and the entire Adige Valley with you.
Have fun tasting, enjoying and dreaming …
